Baron's playschool in Finglas wanted to install a canopy over the outdoor playground so that the kids can engage in activities out in the fresh air even when the weather is poor. The space will also be useful for family activities in the evenings and at weekends.

• We installed the canopy between the house wall and an existing block shed.
• To give the new area an attractive finish, we installed cladding boards on the shed and boundary wall.
• We closed the gap between the top of the boundary wall and the canopy with a timberframe and multiwall panels.
• An L-shaped corner bench was designed and installed to give lots of seating and to cover the steps of a former door. Some of the space underneath can be used for storage.
